THE McCAMAN'S BIOGRAPHY
Gary was born in Michigan to a pastor's family on January 28. His family moved several times as he grew up. He accepted Christ in 1967. Gary graduated from the University of Iowa with a B.S. in Speech and Hearing Science in 1977. In 1979 he was granted an M.A. in Audiology. In 1986, Gary came to Grace Seminary and graduated in 1991 with an M.Div.
Linda was born on May 2 in Sioux City, Iowa. She grew up there and accepted Christ while in junior high school. She graduated from the University of Iowa with a B.S. in Elementary Education in 1978. While Gary was at Grace, Linda was a full-time mother and a part-time pre-school and substitute teacher for Warsaw Christian School.
Gary and Linda met at the University of Iowa where both were involved in Campus Crusade. They were married May 20, 1978. A year later Gary accepted a position as an Audiologist with the Easter Seal Society in Montana. Their two children, Michael and Jennifer, were both born there.
In 1986 they moved to Warsaw, IN so Gary could attend Grace Seminary. During Gary's seminary days, the McCamans attended the Warsaw Community Grace Brethren Church and later became members. It was there that they met Dave and Sue Guiles. Dave later became the Argentine field director and challenged Gary to consider a ministry of teaching pastors in Argentina. As Gary and Linda prayed about this and began to take steps, God confirmed His leading through the enthusiastic support of Community GBC and the positive results of the application process at GBIM.
The McCamans left for language study in McAllen TX in May 1992 and arrived on the field in Buenos Aires on June 1, 1993.
Gary is involved in mentoring church-planting teams and theological education of leaders. He is currently pursing a Ph.D. in theology through PRODOLA (www.prodola.org). Linda is involved in a discipleship ministry as well as training women to do children's ministries.
Michael graduated from Grace College in 2005 and spent a year doing a tent- making/church-planting internship in Argentina. He married Emily Karhan on September 23, 2006. They are currently living and working in Columbus. They plan on entering a church- planting ministry.
Jennifer graduated from Grace College in May of 2007 after spending her last semester in France. She is currently living in Winona Lake and working in Goshen, Indiana. She hopes to eventually do relief work in Africa.
